K State jumps on the scoreboard early

They get a FG in their game against Nebraska

by MexiHog on Nov 21, 2009 7:56 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Nebraska – K State’s a pretty important game; actually the one I have on right now. Nebraska has a prayer of beating Texas because of the tremendous D (though not if their O runs the option like that), but K State? Not so much.

by peachy rex on Nov 21, 2009 8:02 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Yeah I have it on too

I tend to think that games that actually have something on the line other than win/loss recores should at least provide some excitement.

I'm switching back and forth between UGA-UK and the Pac-10 games

I’m not sure if I can stomach the Big XII North, but we’ll see

It’s… unsightly. I may find a Pac-10 game instead myself. (If I’m still awake, I’ll switch to UGA-Kentucky if the Cats are winning late. Hehe.)

by peachy rex on Nov 21, 2009 8:09 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Oregon’s offence is always fun to watch – and the game means something, with the winner getting the inside track to a whupping on Ohio State. :)

Yeah for some reason they Big 12 north games always tend to be boring. I switched my main TV to UGA- UK and my other screen to Pac 10

So what’s the no-star SEC coaching staff? Crowton as OC, Martinez as DC… who gets the nod as the boss?

by peachy rex on Nov 21, 2009 8:05 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

After tonight my votes is with Miles

This is the second year in a row when he’s going to take a tremendously talented team and doing nothing tangible with it.

I say Martinez

I think the talent he has to work with is slightly better than the talent LSU has in offense.

by MexiHog on Nov 21, 2009 8:06 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Yeah, but they get an excuse

They’re coaching Vandy after all..

I haven’t watched a Nebraska game this year (except a bit of that Thursday nighter when they had the mammoth rally against Mizzou or whoever) – is this their version of the option? Or is the QB supposed to run sideways until he gets tackled every time?

Texas is going to kill that poor dude, if Nebraska manages to win tonight.

This is ridiculous. Why does anyone in eastern Tennessee — or Boston for that matter — care about Kansas-Texas? I guess we Southerners are just too ignorant to enjoy Pac-10 football.

Seeing as how the Sun Belt is the SEC’s little brother, I think it only fair to mention that Troy has clinched their fourth straight conference title (at worst, they’ll finish in a two-way tie with a team they beat – whoever wins the LaMo-MTSU game.)

Do you think the Sun Belt would trade us Troy for Vandy? I bet the other schools would vote ‘yes’ in a heart-beat.

by peachy rex on Nov 21, 2009 8:59 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

by Southern Dawg on Nov 21, 2009 9:09 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

It wouldn’t make much difference to the SEC, but the Sun Belt might welcome a chance to try out a new overlord and oppressor. (And I bet Vandy would find the big fish in a small pond lifestyle pretty fine, too…)

by peachy rex on Nov 21, 2009 9:07 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Hmm, guess we have to keep Vandy after all… sorry Sun Belt, the relentless tyranny of Troy will continue a little longer.

by peachy rex on Nov 21, 2009 9:12 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

This is true – Troy would be more of a Western Division team anyhow. And Dan Mullen would love the Sun Belt. He would rule it with a fist of iron… in a glove of chain mail! [cue diabolical laughter]

Well, Nebraska and K State have combined for 13 points through two quarters, and neither is on pace for 300 yards of offence. Let’s hear it for the Big 12 North, people!
