Stanford.
While I clearly have plenty of disagreements with this list (I’d love to read your comments on mine over in the FanPosts) none stands out more than Stanford. Their three losses are to teams with a combined 13 losses of their own. They have only two wins that register on my radar and those names slash that hype don’t match the resumes this year.
"A player who conjugates a verb in the first person singular cannot be part of the squad, he has to conjugate the verb in the first person plural. We. We want to conquer. We are going to conquer. Using the word 'I' when you're in a group makes things complicated." ~ Wanderley Luxemburgo, 1999

Rebels/Trees
Not to speak for the authors, but Stanford could be in the midst of the same type of year end finish that Ole Miss went on last year after the loss to Alabama. They have beaten in consecutive weeks the two top teams in their conference and are doing so while scoring a significant amount of points. The defense doesn’t look too shabby either.
While I agree that they do have some bad losses, examine the teams immediately above and below them in the polls. I think that Stanford, today, is on even ground with Penn State, Iowa, Nebraska, Virginia Tech, and Miami. I don’t see any of the those teams as being inarguably better than Stanford.
