I understand that Texas hasn't looked great
but tied with Iowa?!?! Iowa might be the ugliest undefeated team ever, this late in the season. Texas would pound them. That, or as Orson predicts, Iowa would win by two points in a game so ugly you would wish that eye bleach was a real thing.
The latter.
Texas has been fortunate enough to play opponents who can’t keep up depth-wise for four quarters. Their first halves have looked really bad so far. It may be just a matter of not quite gelling together yet, but it’s a worrisome trend as the season progresses.

I have to admit that,
second only to Charles “The Hammer” Martel turning back the Muslem army in the battle of Tours in 732, causing Year2 to change his week 6 ballot might prove to be the most influencial moment in written history.

Groupthink?
Wow. Really? Lots of people objecting to a system that ranks a 5-1 team five spots HIGHER than the unbeaten 6-0 team they lost to – that’s groupthink? Wow. I just… wow.
Hey, what do you call someone who posts intentionally inflammatory content and then objects to the resultant uproar by calling it groupthink? Hint: they live under bridges and hate billy goats. Some websites like ‘em because they increase page hits. (I’m looking at you, Slashdot.)
Intentionally imflammatory?
I made a system, I said “here’s the results of my system,” and thought nothing more than that I was not out to get people’s goats by throwing something up for a reaction. I am reasonably convinced that Alabama will eventually pass up VT should both keep winning, so it’s a non-issue. In a poll that is 100% impervious to poll inertia, only the final vote truly matters.
And, as a long time Slashdotter, I object to being called a troll you insensitive clod!

I was joking
Most of the posts on this site have at least one sentence in them that is tongue in cheek. My apologies for trying to be humorous. Actually, scratch that; I don’t apologize for trying to be humorous.
Team Speed Kills. All SEC, all the time.
Ah, so we need a sarcasm tag here as well!
Perfectly fine, then. With the entirely reasonable and believable explanation of sarcasm, I hereby officially withdrawn any accusation, veiled or otherwise, of deliberate trolling. Apologies to both of you.
Now, you do have to admit that having a UF fan post a fairly out-there ballot with UF #1 and Alabama 7 spots down does leave you open to some questions about homerism… Me, I probably would have fine-tuned the system a bit before springing it on an unsuspecting world, but I’m an engineer and I hate to be wrong more than anything else – except maybe Tennessee. Which is why I wouldn’t have tried to develop my own ranking system at all, that’s the surest way to be wrong. Kudos to you for baring your efforts to the world.
Honestly, I don’t really care where you rank Bama. I don’t even care if you rank ‘em using a system riddled with selection bias. Yawn. Sounds like college football since… well, ever. You’ll note perhaps that I didn’t post this in the other thread in which you were excoriated – it was nothing more than the “groupthink” remark that elicited my response. And I’m all in favor of humor; I’m a bit of an after-dinner speaker myself, nudge nudge. I just couldn’t tell if that were or weren’t. And while I am a lifelong Bama fan – hence my immediate notice of what might be referred to as a ranking anomaly – I live in Gainesville and have a masters from UF, so my purposes are fairly well served if either team takes it all. I would disagree just as much if your system ranked Miami over Va. Tech as of today, but I probably wouldn’t care as much.
