Half of SEC Power Poll Ballot for Week 6

Powerpoll2009logo_medium

My portion of the SEC Power Poll ballot for Week 6.

1. Alabama
Maybe they were looking ahead to the South Carolina game?

2. Florida
TIM TEBOW PLAYED HE IS THE GREATEST EVER EVEN IF THE OFFENSE ONLY SCORED 13 POINTS BUT THE DEFENSE WAS GREAT BECAUSE TIM TEBOW PLAYED.

3. LSU
They lost by 10 to one of the conference's two elite teams. Not that bad.

4. South Carolina
I feel sick. This only means that a long and dark collapse is in store.

5. Arkansas
Yikes. That's what we were all expecting back before the season began.

6. Auburn
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt because last week was strength (Ryan Mallett) agianst weakness (pass defense).

7. Tennessee
Do they Vols have life? Probably not much of it with that schedule. But they appear to be pretty clearly better than Georgia.

8. Georgia
I don't like to speak ill of the dead or the recently unemplo-- They haven't fired Willie Martinez? Awful, awful performance by the Dawgs' defense.

9. Kentucky
Looked competent playing the Gamecocks but lost their quarterback in the process.

10. Ole Miss
They have proven nothing this year -- except that they don't deserve the benefit of the doubt.

11. Mississippi State
No, you shouldn't have drawn that flag for illegal forward pass. But good teams overcome bad officiating, not that anyone ever accused the Western Division Bulldogs of being a good team.

12. Vanderbilt
Army? ARMY?

you do realize your just contributing to the fatigue, negative attention is still attention.

Just making fun of the media buzz

I don’t have as big a problem with Tebow that fans do, but I think it’s amusing that the story of that game in the MSM was Tim Tebow’s return rather than the defensive play of Florida.

Still don't get why people rank Bama #1

Winning at night in Baton Rouge is far harder than winning during the day in Oxford, especially considering that LSU is a much better team then Ole Miss.
Not to mention the fact that against Florida and Bama’s only common opponent so far, Florida had the more impressive preformance.

I'm doin the Fish again. (Yeah, yeah, yeah.)

Two words

Virginia Tech. That’s as good a win as LSU is, and then if you go down the line, Bama’s collection of wins is slightly better. Mostly that’s because Florida’s had a bye while Alabama has not, but as the season goes along they’ll even out better.

What’s the basis for declaring LSU “much better” than Ole Miss? Better, I’d believe, but the Tigers have been living on the edge since the season started. Neither team is as good as predicted before the season started, and I don’t see a whole lot to separate them yet.
