Yeah, the name is terrible. But this is our game. I'll be around every few minutes -- the computer and the TV are in different rooms right now,so I'll be going back and forth.

The Gator offence seems a little tentative so far – but, despite UF’s reputation for jumping out early, the coaches tend to be pretty conservative in the opening drives, especially with poor field position. (It’s the inner Woody Hayes breaking out of Meyer.)
we shall see
Nice drive going so far. Need points though

No prob – like I said over on one of the Dawg sites… it’s one thing to cheer for another SEC team in an ordinary bowl, but the title game is different. Especially if you had hoped to get there yourselves. I really can’t say if I would have cheered for Bama if the positions had been reversed.
I would.
/insanely loyal

A dangerous play by Murphy – I would have bellowed so loud my father would have heard me in Barbados if he had fumbled.
You don't hear
the word “bellowed” used too much these days. I commend you, sir.

Well, you know, he wasn’t that bad in real life – a serious hard-ass, sure, but Dumas took some liberties with the material. (Think of him as a celibate Saban running 17th century France – even the colour scheme is the same.)
i was thinking of the
french part….

After a scoreless first quarter -- most of which I missed -- Florida strikes first, 7-0

As it turns out
Florida politicans like hearing themselves talk almost as much as Georgia politicians. Who knew? ;)

I'll try not to do that.
Not much of a talker anyway.

If he does, watch out
Those tears are awesome. Florida will score 50. In 9 plays.
Team Speed Kills. All SEC, all the time.
Wait, would that be 54? Or are some of those plays PAT’s? In which case it would be impossible, even with all of them being 2 point conversions. Oh, I get it. It was a hyperbole!

I was about to wonder aloud how long Florida could make up for the running game
With some of the pitches and short passes we’ve seen the last two drives.
FAIL.
They need a running game

nice stop by

terrible call by
Stoops…you get points!!
When you are an Alabama fan you are expected to hate Auburn, I hate Tennessee because I want to.
The way this game has been going, I’d have to agree. Points aren’t exactly falling out of trees so far.
And you have to wonder how long that's going to keep up
Which is my reason for going with it. You take points because you’re going to need them in this game.
Team Speed Kills. All SEC, all the time.
He was going for points...
7 of them. If they would have made it he’d look great. If the snap was botched on the FG it’d be a questionable call too. Too early to tell whether that was really a mistake.

Sure but 1 foot?
An offense should always be able to grind out 1 foot. Poor execution.

Harvin’s has never, not once, been 100 percent. (OK, maybe for ten minutes following his off-season injury – but it’s a running joke among UF fans that there’s always something wrong.)
Hence Rainey saying he never runs hard.

i missed it
did they at least call a penalty

And that kind of play is precisely why they banned the damn thing to begin with. A glaring miss by the refs.
After having a mini-seizure.
And the reporter says it’s a ankle sprain, and he’s questionable for the rest of the game. That’s one BAD ankle sprain.

Okay, it's officially scary
Harvin hasn’t been 100 percent almost all year. (There was one game he said he was). Rainey’s been playing hurt. Just how fast are these guys when healthy?!?
Team Speed Kills. All SEC, all the time.
im seeing a few
but not that many

First half thoughts
Florida looks like it’s just hanging on. Part of that is Tebow’s play, but the defense appears to be struggling, too. If not for two questionable decisions (one by Stoops, one by Bradford), the Gators are down 17-7 right now.
No one’s going to believe me know,, but the first score I had in my prediction space for this game was like 34-24. Then I thought, “Nah, it’ll be higher scoring than that,” and changed it. This is why I go with my first instinct on predictions, even when it doesn’t seem “right.”
And Charles Davis’ idea of analysis is obviously to come up with one thought and beat the same dead horse over and over and over. FASTPACEDOKLAHOMAOFFENSEOFFENSEOFOKLAHOMAFASTPACEDFASTPACEDOKLAHOMA!!!!!
Team Speed Kills. All SEC, all the time.
I agree with most of that
Oklahoma dominated the 2nd quarter but didn’t get the points on the scoreboard to show for it.
Unsportsmanlike conduct on Tebow?
What is the world coming to?
by The Feathered Warrior on Jan 8, 2009 11:45 PM EST reply actions
That was actually a completely fair call – taunting, without a doubt. But after the smack OU talked (their defence anyhow)… I don’t feel bad about it at all. (And yeah, UF players talked quite a bit too… but at least no-one said Bradford would be the 4th best QB in the SEC.)
You know, he might just… he certainly didn’t look much better than Snead or Stafford to me (or Tebow, though they obviously have completely different playing styles.) But, hell, get a little bit of a pass-rush going, and most QBs don’t look quite so brilliant as before.
he throws a beautiful ball...
but like you said, he folds under pressure…Tebow and most other SEC QBs do not. They are used to constant pressure and keep their composure.
Eat your words Big 12. Congrats Florida.
Really?
He put some good throws right on the money. He’s better than everyone except Tebow.
I think he is better – but not that much better. He definitely benefited from a conference with lots of less-than-stellar defences, an absolute brick-wall of a line, tremendous skill-position talent, and a very high pace to generate lots of attempts.
Snead is the guy in the conference who really concerns me going forward (though Jefferson has tremendous promise too); I’m so glad UF won’t face Ole Miss again in the regular season until he’s gone.
Oh, and by the way – Oklahoma was an excellent team, fully deserving of their reputation. I would have been very disappointed if UF had lost, of course, but in a day or two I think I would have accepted the result.
That actually may have been the best defence UF faced (though I think Bama still wins that honour), and the offence – despite the relatively modest numbers – terrified me right to the end. But although Bradford was efficient, and their receivers were just as big as advertised, and Brown just as formidable… OU never broke the big plays they had routinely against their other adversaries, and often seemed uncharacteristically cautious and prudent.
dude
the SEC CG was the National Title game…

That doesn't hold as much water now.
Cause that would give Utah more reason to be mad.

And I have a younger sister, before anybody starts assuming?
